Yes. Laser engraving in our standard Arial (Print) font is complimentary on every Aquamarise® ring, whatever the metal — sterling silver, 14K gold vermeil, solid gold, and tungsten carbide are all included. On a matched couples’ set the engraving covers both bands at no extra charge.

Women’s rings take up to 16 characters including spaces, and men’s rings take up to 25. The true limit depends on the band width and the design, so a wide flat band holds a longer line than a narrow one. If you are not certain your message fits, contact us before ordering and we will confirm it for your specific piece. Inside the band, against the skin, where only the wearer sees it. Engraving is offered on most rings with a band width of 1.4mm or wider. Every Aquamarise® ring already carries a metal hallmark inside for authenticity — sterling silver is marked 925A, and tungsten is marked Tungsten Carbide. That hallmark is permanent, so your engraved text is positioned alongside it rather than in place of it, and the two read as one continuous inscription.

Ten standard symbols are available with no setup: ♥ ♡ ☾ ✩ ★ ✿ ♬ ♯ • ■. For anything beyond those — a monogram, a small icon, a waveform — send us the artwork as an SVG file before placing the order and we will tell you whether it reads clearly. Very narrow bands limit how much fine detail survives at that scale, so we review each custom symbol against the specific piece you have chosen.

Allow one to four additional business days for engraving on top of the normal production time for your piece. Laser engraving is a precision step and we do not rush it; that window is what keeps the letterforms even and the depth consistent. Solid gold and platinum pieces are made to order in three to six weeks, and the engraving days are added to that. Your delivery estimate at checkout already accounts for standard shipping.

No. Engraved pieces are personalized to your exact specification and are final sale, which is standard across custom jewelry. Our quality guarantee still applies: if the engraved text does not match what you submitted at checkout, we correct it at no charge. Aesthetic preferences — a deeper cut, a different letterform, different centering — are not grounds for a refund. Non-customized pieces keep the standard 14-day return window, so review your text carefully before you confirm.

All of them take a clean line, but they read differently. 925 sterling silver is a solid alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, so the cut sits in the metal itself. 14K gold vermeil holds at least 2.5 microns of 10K-or-finer gold over a sterling core, per the US FTC standard, and engraves neatly inside the band. Solid 14K gold is 58.5% pure, stamped 585, and takes a deeper impression. Tungsten carbide is the hardest and holds the crispest shallow line.

The strongest inscriptions are short and specific. Dates work in several formats — 06.15.2026 is ten characters, June 15, 2026 is thirteen — and initials joined by an ampersand almost always fit. Coordinates of a meaningful place can be shortened to fit, as in 40.71N 74.00W at thirteen characters. Phrases in another language, Roman numerals, and Morse code all read well at small scale.
