Size Exchange or Resizing?
There are two ways to fix a ring that doesn't fit. Which one applies depends on when you ask and whether the ring is eligible.
Complimentary size exchange
Within 14 days of delivery, eligible rings can be exchanged for the same design in a new size at no cost. The ring must be non-custom, not engraved, unworn and in its original packaging.
The exchange is available on U.S. orders, and made-to-order solid gold and platinum pieces are excluded. Read the full returns and exchange policy.
Paid resizing
Resizing is available at an extra cost for brand-new, unworn Aquamarise® rings. Most styles can go up or down by up to two sizes.
Prices vary by style, so please contact us for a quote before you send your ring. Engraved rings aren't eligible for resizing or an exchange unless the mistake was ours.
The easiest fix is the right size from the start: use our ring size guide before you order.
Can My Ring Be Resized?
It depends mostly on the metal and the design. Resizable styles can usually move up to two sizes.
| Metal or style | Can it be resized? |
|---|---|
| Solid gold | Yes. Up to two sizes on most styles, quoted per style. |
| Platinum | Yes. Up to two sizes on most styles, quoted per style. |
| Sterling silver | Yes. Up to two sizes on most styles, with the rhodium finish refreshed afterward. Quoted per style. |
| Gold vermeil and black ruthenium | Yes, with refinishing. The plating is reapplied after sizing so the join doesn't show. Quoted per style. |
| Tungsten carbide, titanium and Damascus steel | No. They're too hard to cut and rejoin, so we make the same design in your new size instead. Quoted per style. |
| Meteorite and other inlay bands | No. Inlays crack when a band is cut. Contact us and we'll talk through your options. |
| Eternity, guard and continuous-design bands | No. The stones or pattern run all the way around, so there is no plain section to cut. |

Warranty Repair or Paid Repair?
Every Aquamarise® piece is covered against manufacturing defects. Solid gold, platinum and tungsten carbide carry a lifetime warranty. Sterling silver, gold vermeil, black ruthenium, titanium and Damascus steel are covered for 100 days.
What the warranty covers
- Defective clasps or closures
- Faulty solder joints
- Structural defects present at delivery
- Stone-setting defects that loosen or drop stones
What it doesn't cover
- Normal wear, such as scratches, thinning metal, worn prongs and plating that softens over time
- Accidents, impact, chemicals and improper care
- Loss or theft
- Work by any other jeweler
If it's a manufacturing defect, we repair or replace the piece at no cost and cover the postage. If it's wear or an accident, we can still repair it at a quoted cost. Coverage applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Read the full warranty.
Aquamarise® pieces only
We don't resize or repair jewelry bought elsewhere. Working only on our own pieces lets us match the original metal, finish and setting.
Repairs & Resizing FAQs
How much does ring resizing cost?
Resizing prices vary by ring style, so we quote each ring individually. Email your order number, a photo and the size you need to help@aquamarise.com and we'll reply within one business day.
Is my first size exchange free?
Yes. One complimentary size exchange is available on eligible non-custom, non-engraved rings within 14 days of delivery. The ring must be unworn and in its original packaging. See our returns policy for full eligibility.
How many sizes can a ring be resized?
Up to two sizes up or down on most ring styles. Some designs, such as eternity and continuous-design bands, can't be resized.
Can you resize a ring I've already worn?
No. We resize brand-new, unworn Aquamarise® rings only. Repairs are still available on worn pieces at a quoted cost.
Can engraved rings be resized or exchanged?
Engraved rings aren't eligible for resizing or a size exchange unless the mistake was ours, such as a wrong engraving or the wrong size sent.
Can tungsten rings be resized?
No. Tungsten carbide is too hard to cut and rejoin. If your ring is eligible, use the complimentary size exchange within 14 days of delivery. Otherwise, we can make the same design in your new size at a quoted cost. Read more in Can tungsten rings be resized or cut off?
How long do repairs and resizing take?
Most are finished within 2–3 business days after your piece arrives at our studio. Add shipping time in both directions.
Who pays for shipping?
You pay the postage for repairs and resizing. If the problem was our error, such as a wrong engraving or a defective ring, we cover it. We recommend insuring valuable pieces in transit.
Do you repair jewelry from other brands?
No. We resize and repair Aquamarise® pieces only.
Is my repair covered by the warranty?
If the issue is a manufacturing defect, yes. Solid gold, platinum and tungsten carbide have a lifetime warranty. Sterling silver, gold vermeil, black ruthenium, titanium and Damascus steel are covered for 100 days. Wear, accidents, loss and work by other jewelers aren't covered.
Can you refresh a rhodium or black ruthenium finish?
Yes. We can clean and reapply rhodium and black ruthenium finishes at a quoted cost. Plating that softens with wear is normal and isn't a warranty defect.
What if a stone falls out?
If a manufacturing defect caused it and your piece is within its warranty period, we repair it at no cost. Otherwise, resetting or replacing the stone is quoted once we've seen photos.
