Engagement Ring
The oval ruby sits in prongs between two black onyx pears, framed by carved leaves and a scattering of cubic zirconia across the shoulders.
Enhancer Band
An open wrap whose arms curl away in leaves and scrollwork, closing around the center stone rather than stacking beneath it.
Both ship together at the same size. The engagement ring stands on its own, and the enhancer can be worn alone or on another finger, so the set does not have to be worn as one. The family is named for the 1872 gothic novella Carmilla — the vampire story that arrived twenty-six years before Dracula. Red on black, leaves and old scrollwork; the reference is not subtle and is not meant to be.

This stone is lab-grown, with the same chemistry, hardness and optical behavior as mined corundum, in a saturated blood red that would be scarce and expensive in nature at 5 × 7 mm.

Metal and Accents
Both rings are solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish — the same platinum-group metal used on white gold. The rhodium gives the bright white surface and shields the silver underneath from tarnishing.

Care
Ruby is 9 on the Mohs scale and among the most durable stones for daily wear; onyx is softer at 7 and prefers to avoid knocks.
