A 4 × 8 mm natural citrine, marquise cut and set north–south between two blackened scrolls. A crown of marquise and round cubic zirconia fans above and below the stone, three round citrines cluster at each shoulder, and the whole composition sits on a slim 1.7 mm band of solid sterling silver in a black ruthenium finish.

The Design
The shoulders carry this ring. Instead of a straight shank running into the setting, two blackened volutes scroll away from the center like wrought ironwork, each holding a single round accent where the curve tightens. Three round citrines cluster at the outer edge of each scroll, and a narrow crown of marquise and round stones fans above and below the center stone.
Nothing in the silhouette is round. The ring reads as a single vertical axis — long marquise center, pointed crowns at either end — which is why a 4 × 8 mm stone wears considerably larger than its measurements suggest. If you are looking past the plain solitaire, our guides to fantasy engagement rings and non-traditional engagement rings cover the wider field.
The Natural Citrine
Citrine is quartz — the golden-to-amber variety — and sits at 7 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for daily wear with normal care. The color here is a warm honey-orange that reads gold in daylight and deepens toward amber under lamplight.
The center is natural citrine, cut as a 4 × 8 mm marquise and set north–south so its length runs along the finger. That is the most elongating orientation, as our guide to marquise engagement rings sets out, and it is doing real work on a stone this narrow.
Citrine has long been associated with warmth, abundance and self-possession — it was carried by merchants as a stone of good fortune, which is where the old name "the merchant's stone" comes from. Our pieces on citrine meaning and citrine engagement rings go further into both the lore and the practical buying questions.
Metal and Stones
The ring is solid 925 sterling silver throughout with a black ruthenium finish — a platinum-group metal that settles to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat black. Against a warm stone that matters: the darkened metal drops away visually and leaves the citrine as the only source of color.
Six round natural citrines sit three to a shoulder, stepping the color outward from the center. The white accents — marquise and round cubic zirconia in the crown at each end, plus one round in each scroll — are cubic zirconia, not diamond. Moissanite or lab-grown diamond accents are available as a custom order.

Care
Citrine is 7 on the Mohs scale and suits daily wear with normal care. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam and household chemicals — prolonged strong light can also fade citrine over time, so store the ring in its velvet box rather than on a sunny windowsill. Abrasive polishes will wear the ruthenium finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the citrine natural?
Yes. The center stone and all six shoulder stones are natural citrine, the golden variety of quartz.
What color is it exactly?
A warm honey-orange. It reads gold in daylight and deepens toward amber under lamplight, which is characteristic of citrine rather than a trick of the photography.
Are the white accent stones diamonds?
No. They are cubic zirconia — a simulated diamond — in the crown at each end and in each scroll. Moissanite or lab-grown diamond accents are available as a custom order.
How large is the center stone?
4 × 8 mm, set north–south so the length runs along the finger. The narrow marquise plus the pointed crowns at each end make the ring wear larger than the measurement suggests.
How dark is the black ruthenium finish?
Ruthenium finishes to a deep gunmetal rather than a flat jet black. Against a warm stone that is an advantage — the metal recedes and leaves the citrine as the only color.
What is the ring made of?
Solid 925 sterling silver throughout, with a black ruthenium finish. No brass or base metal.
Is citrine durable enough for an engagement ring?
Yes, with normal care. At 7 on the Mohs scale it is comparable to many stones worn daily. Remove it for abrasive work and avoid harsh chemicals.
Will the citrine fade?
Citrine can pale under prolonged intense light or heat. Ordinary wear is fine; just avoid leaving the ring in direct sun for long stretches and store it in its box.
What does citrine symbolize?
Warmth, abundance and self-possession. It was carried by merchants as a stone of good fortune, which is where the old name the merchant's stone comes from.
Is citrine a birthstone?
Yes — citrine is a November birthstone, alongside topaz.
What sizes are available?
Sizes 4 through 11, including every half size. If you fall between sizes or need something outside that range, contact us before ordering and we will advise.
Can the ring be resized?
Yes. Because the shoulders carry scrollwork and stone clusters, resizing is best kept within one size of the original. Resizing starts from $45.
Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Not entirely — the crown at the lower end of the center stone leaves a gap against a straight band. A contour or chevron band will nest more closely.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes. Engraving is available on the inner band, up to 16 characters, and can be added as an option at checkout.
Are the stones ethically sourced?
Yes. All Aquamarise stones are conflict-free and responsibly sourced, and every order arrives in a free luxury velvet jewelry box.
