Why the Channel Sits Off-Center

The Lab-Grown Ruby
Ruby is corundum, the red variety, and corundum is a 9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond. This ruby is lab-grown: the same chemistry and the same hardness as mined corundum, grown rather than dug, which is what makes a saturated red at this volume affordable. The stone is crushed into small fragments, packed into the channel and set in clear resin, then ground flush and polished level with the metal. In this crushed form it reads a hot, pink-leaning red against the black, brighter and more magenta than a single faceted ruby, because light is bouncing off hundreds of small broken faces rather than one set of facets. The fragments settle where they fall, so the pattern in your band is unique. Nothing is prong-set, so there is nothing to snag or lose.
Polished Black Tungsten

A mirror polish shows fingerprints and fine handling marks more readily than a brushed finish does, and tungsten's hardness keeps those marks shallow. Why Tungsten
Tungsten carbide sits around 8.5–9 on the Mohs scale, several times harder than gold or titanium, so the finish still looks like this after years of daily work where a precious-metal band would have gone soft with scratches. It is also heavy in the hand, which most people read as quality.
The trade-off is worth knowing before you buy: tungsten cannot be resized, and it cannot be bent. Under enough force it fractures rather than deforming. Care
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry. A mirror-polished black band shows fingerprints, so a quick wipe is the whole routine; skip polishing compounds and silver cloths, which are abrasive and will dull the black. Keep it out of chlorinated pools and away from bleach and solvents, which attack the resin holding the ruby. Can it be resized?
No. Tungsten carbide cannot be resized. The material is far too hard to stretch or cut and rejoin. Order carefully, and size down rather than up if you are between sizes.
What does comfort fit mean?
The inside of the band is gently domed instead of flat, so less surface touches your finger. It slides on more easily and runs slightly large, so many people take a quarter to a half size smaller.
Will the black wear off?
