The Design
Two crescent moons turn inward on either side of the center stone, their points meeting the setting like a pair of parentheses. Leaves run outward from them along each shoulder, and round accents sit in the gaps where the metal opens. The band itself is not plain: leaf forms continue down the shank between set stones.

Natural moss agate, a translucent chalcedony. Its green tracery is mineral — manganese and iron oxides that crystallized inside the stone as it formed — rather than organic material, despite the name. It is the obvious stone for a design built from leaves.

The ring is solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish — the same platinum-group metal used on white gold. The rhodium gives the bright white surface and shields the silver underneath from tarnishing.
